Blithe Fabrics Blog Tour - My Little Stars

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my blog! I'm super excited to be part of Blithe Fabrics Blog Tour .

These gorgeous Blithe fabrics are designed by Nina (Katarina Roccella). My heart felt thank you to both Nina and Art Gallery Fabrics for giving me the opportunity to participate in this blog tour. I decide to fussy cut these cute little birds from the Bird Songs Moon fabric to make the center of my stars:


The following accent fabrics were used for the triangles of the stars:



Here is my very first block, I wasn't going for monochromatic/low-volume look but it just happened so:
Wonky Star Block

Finished mini "My Little Stars" quilt

    In order to understand why you should straighten the grain of the fabric, I think you should know a little about how fabrics are made or constructed.

    Martindale Abrasion & Pilling Tester, to determine the abrasion and pilling resistance of all kinds of textile structures. Samples are rubbed against known abrasives at low pressures and in continuously changing directions. The amount of abrasion or pilling is compared against standard parameters. I am super excited to be part of the talented makers in Katarina Roccella's blog tour. Thank you, Nina for letting me participate in this wonderful blog tour. Avant Garde fabric is just mind blowing. When I first saw the pics at Art Gallery website , I was totally in love. When I recieved the fabrics they looked awesome in person and then finally when I started making my quilts. I am truly amazing to see how versatile Avant Garde fabrics are. These two are my most favorite blocks, the Panda is loaned from my 4 year old son ;). He is a cutie and insisted that I use his Panda for posing :D The arrows in the blocks were made from same two fabrics, but the the look is totally different. Think Ruffles Day1 - Kona White Ruffled pillow

I welcome you all to Day1 of Think Ruffles blog hop organized by amazing Mdm Sam @ SewWeQuilt and our amazing cheer leader Amy @ SewIncrediblyCrazy blog. I wanted to thank both Mdm Sam and Amy for this wonderful blog hop. Now peak at my project, a ruffled pillow with zipper. I have been wanting to make ruffles for a while and had one particular pillow in mind, V & Co's white ruffle pillow . I made mine with white Kona Cotton. The strips for the ruffles are 1.5inches. The finished pillow cover is 12"x18". Kona Honey Buns - 1.5inch strips My Little Quilty Model Oh..Ruffles...Ruffles... This time around I even got to add a zipper. Yay for me!
