Quilt Along with Leah Day - week15 & week16

Week 16 - Zippling

Here are the pictures of my practice on Zippling FMQ. I used the same quilt sandwich I was working on for week 15 and part of it quilted with Zippling. They both give a nice cool effect.

Here is my sharp stippling design.

Here are the pictures of my sharp stippling design. May be they can me named in their own right, not sure what to call them, any suggestions?

  1. I certainly like what you have managed to upload. Some days, I think, there is some type of "gremlin" that gets into everything mechanical and fowls them up; then they are gone!?! Will check back again. Hugs, Doreen

    1. I know I was trying to rush through the process, which never works for me. Also broke couple of needles in the process. Didn't realize that my speed on my computerized sewing machine was at fast. Looks like that doesn't go well with the Free motion quilting. Another lesson learned.(big sigh....!)

  2. I like the sharp stippling design you came up with, it reminds me of a fleur-de-lis. It's interesting to see the two pointy designs side by side in your quilt, I had thought they looked really similar but in fact the texture is noticeably different.

    1. Thank you MC for mentioning that. I new the pattern but didn't know the name. There are more ideas poping into my mind with Sharp stippling designs. Will post as soon as I get some quilting done.

  3. Nice to see what you have been working on. How big are the little quilts - what fun to have to use with your baby!

    1. Hi June,
This one is just a small changing pad made from couple of fat-quarters for front & back. So, the size is 18"x22". I could always use an extra changing pad ;).

      cheers,

  5. You zippling and your sharp stippling both look great! I struggled trying to come to a point after months of trying to NOT have points. You seem to have it mastered - great job! ~Jeanne
